Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of pastoral counseling in financial management and career planning based on biblical principles. The background of this research arises from the reality that many individuals, including Christian youth, face financial crises and confusion in determining career paths due to weak financial literacy, a consumptive lifestyle, and the lack of integration between faith and daily life practices. This research is expected to provide theoretical benefits by enriching pastoral theology studies and practical benefits for the church and special ministers in designing mentoring programs relevant to the needs of the congregation. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and semi-structured interviews conducted in North Sulawesi. Data were collected from academic literature, biblical texts, and interviews with individuals who seek to apply biblical values in managing finances and planning careers. Data analysis was carried out thematically using source triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. The results indicate that financial management wisdom, according to Proverbs 21:20 and 2 Corinthians 9:10, emphasizes the importance of planning, saving, responsibility, and the awareness that all blessings come from God. Field findings also reveal cases of youth identity crises rooted in a consumptive lifestyle, highlighting the crucial role of pastoral counseling in providing both spiritual and practical guidance. In conclusion, pastoral counseling serves as an integral strategy in helping individuals manage finances wisely, set career goals aligned with Christian faith, and build holistic and sustainable well-being.
