Perbedaan Digital Hoarding Behavior antara Remaja dan Dewasa Awal Generasi Z Pengguna Media Sosial di Kota Bekasi

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital dan tingginya intensitas penggunaan media sosial pada Generasi Z mendorong meningkatnya kebiasaan menyimpan berbagai file digital, yang dalam kondisi tertentu dapat berkembang menjadi digital hoarding behavior. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbedaan digital hoarding behavior antara kelompok remaja dan kelompok dewasa awal Generasi Z pengguna media sosial di Kota Bekasi. Mengacu pada Neave et al. (2019), digital hoarding behavior diukur melalui dua dimensi, yaitu difficulty deleting dan accumulating. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain komparatif, melibatkan 128 responden (64 remaja usia 14-17 tahun dan 64 dewasa awal usia 18-29 tahun) yang dipilih melalui convenience sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan Digital Hoarding Questionnaire (DHQ) yang terdiri atas 10 item, dengan nilai corrected item-total correlation berkisar 0,310-0,766 dan Cronbach's Alpha sebesar 0,860. Karena data tidak berdistribusi normal, perbedaan antar kelompok diuji menggunakan Mann-Whitney U. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai Z sebesar -3,003 dengan Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,003 (p < 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Kelompok remaja memperoleh mean rank yang lebih tinggi (74,32) dibandingkan kelompok dewasa awal (54,68), yang menunjukkan bahwa remaja memiliki kecenderungan digital hoarding behavior yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dewasa awal. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa tahap perkembangan berkaitan dengan kebiasaan pengelolaan file digital pada Generasi Z, sekaligus menegaskan pentingnya edukasi literasi digital yang disesuaikan
