Abstract

This study examines the formation of Generation Z's self-authenticity in Mobile Legends through the perspective of Heidi A. Campbell's digital theology, which views digital games as social spaces for identity construction and relationship formation. The study employs a qualitative-conceptual approach by integrating a literature review of Campbell's works with semi-structured interviews involving Generation Z Mobile Legends players. The data are analyzed using the frameworks of the Religious-Social Shaping of Technology (RSST), networked identity, and third space, integrated with the concept of self-authenticity. The findings indicate that an orientation toward rank, win rate, and meta culture encourages self-alienation, whereas honesty in role selection reflects authentic living. Campbell's digital theology provides a normative theological foundation for the formation of Generation Z's self-authenticity in digital spaces.
